The Coronavirus, also known as COVID, has increased worries over illness in 2020 and beyond. With new variants being discovered at alarming rates, and vaccines rolling out to combat the worst of the virus, there’s cause for concern among everyday people. However, some people are confused about when they need COVID testing in Saint Petersburg and surrounding cities.
Covid has a long list of possible symptoms, most of which mimic a bad cold or influenza. Some of the most common symptoms include:
- Moderate to high fever
- Dry cough with throat aches or soreness
- Unexplained fatigue
- Diarrhea
- Body aches and severe headache or migraine
Less common symptoms of the Coronavirus include:
- Discoloration or blue tinges to toes and fingers
- Conjunctivitis
- Loss of taste or smell
- Sensitivity to heat or bright lights
In extreme cases, symptoms could include shortness of breath or raspy, wet coughs, loss of speech or movement, inability to form coherent words or thoughts, and chest pain or intense upper body pressure.
When Do COVID Symptoms Become Prevalent?
Most people develop COVID symptoms within 2 to 14 days of viral infection. The best thing you can do is wear a mask, wash your hands regularly, practice social distance of at least 6-feet from anyone else, and avoid traveling or large crowds when possible.
If you’ve traveled or believe you may have been around an infected person, you should isolate yourself for up to two weeks. This is ample time to determine whether the virus is in your system or not.

I’ve been going to CC, a Nurse Practitioner, Denise, and Sarah, at Dr. Kaszuba’s office for a long time now. I just want to say how I love this office. I found out about the office when I took an elderly patient here for her visit. They were so welcoming, I decided to switch to them for my doctor even though I live in Pinellas Park. I’ve always received the best care here.
